Pow wows are vibrant gatherings that bring our community together. You’ll experience dancing, drumming, singing, and the colorful regalia that tell our stories and honor our traditions. It’s a celebration of who we are and where we come from.

Grand Entry: The powerful moment when all dancers enter the arena, a display of unity and respect.
Dancing Competitions: Showcasing various dance styles, each with its own significance and regalia.
Drum Groups: The heartbeat of the pow wow, our drummers provide the rhythm that connects us all.
Giveaways: A tradition of giving, honoring individuals with gifts as a sign of respect and gratitude.
Pow Wow Etiquette
To ensure everyone enjoys and respects the pow wow, here are some guidelines:
Respect the Arena: The dance arena is sacred; please do not walk across it.
Dress Modestly: Wear clothing that is respectful and not too revealing.
Listen to the Emcee: Follow announcements and instructions carefully.
Ask Before Taking Photos: Always get permission before photographing dancers or ceremonies.
Respect Regalia: Do not touch dancers’ regalia.
Respect People's Belongings: Do not move chairs or blankets if someone has left it unattended. They are coming back.
Join In When Invited: Participate in dances when invited, but always respect boundaries.
Keep Conversations Quiet: Minimize talking during dances and ceremonies.
Stand for Special Songs: Stand and remove hats during Grand Entry, Flag Songs, and Honor Songs.
No Alcohol or Drugs: Pow wows are family-friendly and alcohol-free events.
Support Vendors: Buy items from our artisans, but always handle items respectfully.
Respect Elders: Offer seats and assistance to our elders.
Participate in Giveaways: Acknowledge those being honored with respect. The Emcee will announce opportunities to participate in giveaways. Most people will place monetary gifts into the arena or on a provided blanket.
Thank the Staff: Show appreciation to volunteers and staff; follow their guidance.
How to Support the Pow Wow Committee, Drummers, and Dancers
Your support is vital to the success of our pow wow and shows your appreciation for our culture:
Donations: Help cover event costs by contributing to the pow wow committee. Donations can sometimes be made online or most often onsite during specified giveaways.
Volunteer: Offer your time to assist with setup, logistics, or cleanup.
Support the Drummers: Show your appreciation by thanking them and, if appropriate, contributing to their travel expenses.
Cheer for Dancers: Applaud and encourage dancers, showing your appreciation for their skill and dedication.
Buy from Vendors: Purchase from our artisans and vendors to support their crafts and livelihoods.
Spread the Word: Promote the pow wow on social media and within your community to boost attendance and support.
